Valyu was founded at University College London's (UCL) Computer Science Department by researchers and academics. The skilled team has previously co-founded enterprise data/ML companies and worked on privacy, preserving data infrastructures with startups, enterprises and the government.

We just love building cool stuff that people love and have a good time doing it.

ML Engineer (London, UK)

Location: On-site (Soho, Central London)
Type: Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week)
Job Description:‍

Work with engineers to integrate Language Models and other models into our data platform.
Enhance model recall and fact accuracy via dense retrieval augmentation from knowledge bases.
Benchmark storage systems on retrieval latency, data ingestion, and query capacity.
Use Ray and distributed training/inference techniques to optimize model performance.
Develop custom prompts and fine-tuning techniques for LLMs.
Implement CI/CD pipelines to rebuild, evaluate and deploy new LLM checkpoints.
Work with synthetic data and data synthesis.
Work on data pre-processing, model training, tuning, and evaluation.
Participate in research and development of new FL techniques, privacy preserving cryptography and methodologies.

Opportunities:
As an ML Engineer at Valyu, you will be at the forefront of working with and developing models (generative models and federated models) and techniques (Federated Learning) to enhance our data services. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to projects that leverage AI for responsible data sharing and monetisation, while upholding data privacy standards.

Full-Stack Engineer (London, UK)

Location: On-site (Soho, Central London)
Type: Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week)
Job Description:

Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications with a focus on functionality, security, and scalability.
Work with data scientists to connect language models and core AI capabilities into our React+Next.js+Tailwind frontend.
Strong background with Typescript (type safety is not a meme).
Experience with OpenAPI and Postgres.
Operationalize and monitor services on GCP leveraging Cloud Run, Build etc.
Bonus- experience/ knowledge with any of the following: Prompt Engineering, Cryptography, gRPC, Python Applications (fastAPI)
